A good fun evening performing magic at the 2019 Manchester United UNICEF dinner. £225,000 raised for Unicef – with a True/False game and amazing auction prizes – from De Gea’s outfit, to player’s boots and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer donated his watch to the auction.
I entertained Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the team in the VIP reception, and then and around the tables during the dinner. A lot of fun with everyone – tried out my Spanish a bit with Alexis Sanchez (learnt a die is un lado) and pickpocketed a few people too – which went viral(ish)…
after it was featured on Sky One’s Football AM, and if you count 500,000+ views on Sportsbible, 20,000+ views on Twitter and being featured by The Mirror, Football Burp etc – sadly none of them were kind enough to mention my name. But that’s showbiz.
Here Romelu Lukaku filmed me stealing Jesse Lingard’s tie. It’s a funny moment when he realises… I gave it back too!
And after Lukaku posted it on Instagram (he has 4M followers) it was picked up and shared 20,000 times within a day. Amazing. And friends of mine saw it in Dubai and The Gambia even. It was then also featured on the Sky Sports program Soccer AM.
But my favourite moment was probably stealing Joel Pereira’s tie – and then putting it on without him noticing…
